Elizabeth was born in 1889 in Stockport, Cheshire.1   Elizabeth's father was Thomas Elson and her mother was Abigal.  Her paternal grandparents were Patterson Elson and Catherine. She had five sisters named Sarah, Mary, Eliza, Emily and Florence.  She was the youngest of the six children.
