James' baptism took place on March 26th, 1763 in North Bradley.1  James' father was James Aven and his mother was Rachel Read.  His paternal grandparents were Edward Avon and Betty. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, James, William, Benjamin, Elizabeth and Mary.
