Ellis (Alice) Potter

Ellis, known as Alice, was born on February 26th, 1828 in Holme next the sea and her baptism took place on April 20th, 1828 in Holme next the sea St Marys conducted by Curate Henry Owen.¹

Alice's father was John Potter and her mother was Ann Calaby.  Her paternal grandparents were Willm. Potter and Alice Thacker; her maternal grandparents were John Callaby and Ann Holmes. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Charles, Francis, Mary, Elizabeth, Jane, Ann and Susan.  She was the third oldest of the nine children.
