Patrick was born in 1668 in Wigtown, Wigtownshire, , Scotland.  Patrick's father was Patrick Milroy and his mother was Janet Miekleurick.  His paternal grandparents were John Milroy and Ada. He had six brothers named James, William, Gilbert, John, Thomas and Martin.  He was the youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 72 on September 12th, 1740 in Kirk, Smyth, Virginia, United States.
