Martin was born in 1666.  Martin's father was Patrick Milroy and his mother was Janet Miekleurick.  His paternal grandparents were John Milroy and Ada. He had six brothers named James, William, Gilbert, John, Thomas and Patrick.  He was the second youngest of the seven children.
