James was born in 1651.  James' father was Patrick Milroy and his mother was Janet Miekleurick.  His paternal grandparents were John Milroy and Ada. He had six brothers named William, Gilbert, John, Thomas, Martin and Patrick.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 80 in 1731.
