Blanche E was born in 1890. Blanche E's father was William M Atkinson and her mother was Betsy Ann Bird. Her paternal grandfather was Pennock Atkinson and her paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Elliff; her maternal grandparents were James Bird and Mary Ann Jackson. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Abraham Doubleday, William (Will) D, Rebecca (Becky), Margaret (Maggie) A and Alice. She was the second oldest of the six children.
