  1861 census has a James Bird born in Cromer, aged forty something.  See sources for entry.  He was married to a Mary Ann Bird aged 35.  The BMD index has a death entry for a Mary Ann Bird in Scarborough in 1870 Q3 aged 45 (Scarborough 9d 235).  The FreeBMD Marriage index for 1845 Q1 has a marriage for a James Bird of Scarborough with a Mary Ann Jackson on the same page (Scarboro, vol 24 pg 510).
  1851 census has James Bird aged 28 in Little Dunham, Norfolk, with wife Mary Ann aged 26 and son James aged 7.
