Louis, known as The Younger, was born in 1119 in Reims, Champagne, France.1  The Younger's father was King Louis (The Fat) France IV and his mother was Alix of Savoy.  His paternal grandparents were Phillip Capet Of France I and Bertha Holland; his maternal grandparents were Marquis of Turin, Count of Savoy Humbert de Maurienne II and Gisela of Burgundy de Macon. He had two brothers named Le Grosse and Pierre.  He was the oldest of the three children. He had a half-sister named Isabelle.  He died at the age of 61 on September 18th, 1180 in Paris, France.  He was buried in Saint Denis Basilica.2 2
