Mattie Matilda Nance

Mattie Matilda was born on February 13th, 1895 in Rockingham Co, NC.¹ Mattie Matilda's father was Addison Toplady Nance and her mother was Mary A. Cobb. Her paternal grandparents were Fountaine Nance and Jemina Vincent Grant. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Samuel Fountain, Ashley Johnson, James Crawford, George Lindsey, Archibald Addison 'Archie', Delaware W. 'Dell', Mary Belle, Maggie Lou and Jesse May. She was the fourth youngest of the ten children.
