John Albert Jared

John was born on May 6th, 1846 in Clifton Mills, Breckinridge Co., Kentucky.¹ John's father was Mayson Jared and his mother was Polly Dowell. His maternal grandparents were Elijah Dowell and Jemima Board. He had six brothers and eight sisters, named Saloy, James, Joel, William, Israel, Clayton, Eliza, Mary, Letitia, Melinda, Amanda, Sarah, Safrona and Mirian. He was the tenth oldest of the fifteen children.
