Robert II was born on March 2nd, 1316 in Dundonald, Kyle, Ayrshire, Scotland.  Robert II's father was Walter Stewart and his mother was Marjorie De Bruce.  His paternal grandparents were James Stewart and Egidia De Burgh; his maternal grandparents were Robert Bruce and Isabel Mar. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Thomas, John, Andrew and Egidia (Jill).  He died at the age of 74 on April 19th, 1390 in Dundonald Castle, Dundonald, Kyle, Ayrshire, Scotland.  He was buried in 1390 in Abbey, Scone, Perth, Scotland.
