Benjamin was born in 1801 in USA.1 Benjamin's father was William Elliot and his mother was Miriam Leath. His paternal grandfather was Unknown Elliot; his maternal grandparents were Josiah Leath and Elizabeth Jobe. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named Josiah Leath, William Blackburn, Jenne H, Elizabeth Betsey, Joanna, Susanna, Nancy Lucinda, Miriam, Isabella and Milinda. He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children.-
