Judith Juliana was born about 1043 in Avranches, Normandy.  Judith Juliana's father was Richard  "Le Goz" Vicomte D'Avranches and her mother was Lady Emma de Conteville.  Her paternal grandparents were Toustien Vct de Avranches Le Goz and Judith Montanolier; her maternal grandparents were Herluin de Conteville Viscount Conteville and Harlette De Falaise Countess of Mortaigne. She had a brother and four sisters, named Hugh d'Aurange, Emma or Albreda, Elisende Jeanare Hersendis, Maud (Margaret) D' and Isabelle.  She is the oldest of the six children.
