Emma or Albreda was born about 1046 in Normandy. Emma or Albreda's father was Richard "Le Goz" Vicomte D'Avranches and her mother was Lady Emma de Conteville. Her paternal grandparents were Toustien Vct de Avranches Le Goz and Judith Montanolier; her maternal grandparents were Herluin de Conteville Viscount Conteville and Harlette De Falaise Countess of Mortaigne. She had a brother and four sisters, named Hugh d'Aurange, Judith Juliana, Elisende Jeanare Hersendis, Maud (Margaret) D' and Isabelle. She is the second oldest of the six children.General Notes
