Llywarch ap was born about 1070 in Arwystli, Montgomeryshire, Wales. Llywarch ap's father was Trahaearn ap Caradog King of Gwynedd and his mother is Nest verch Gruffydd. His paternal grandparents are Caradawg ap Gwyn and Miss verch Gwerystan; his maternal grandparents were Gruffydd ap Llewelyn Prince of Deheubarth and Ealdgyth 'Swan-neck' Of England. He had six brothers named Owain ap, Meurig ap, Griffri ap, Ednomain ap, Ieuan ap and Madog ap. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Simon, Hugh, Hugh Of Richard's Castle and Nesta Verch. He died in 1128 in North Wales.1 -
