John Somery 
John was born about 1225 in of Dudley Castle, Midlands, England. John's father was Roger de Somery Lord Dudley and his mother was Ida (Idonea) "Camvile" Longespee. His paternal grandparents were Sir Ralph de Somery Lord Dudley and Margaret Marshall; his maternal grandparents were William Longespee , Earl of Salisbury and Ela Deveraux (Countess of Salisbury). He has a sister named Lora de. He is the younger of the two children. He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Ralph de, Roger II, Roger III, Joan de, Mabel de and Margaret de.General Notes
Son of Roger de Somery and said to have been one fo the most hated feudal lords in the west Midlands. John's works included a two-storeyed great tower at Dudley Castle, of about 1300, rectangular in plan with cylindrical corner turrets, part of which remains, a square-plan gatehouse linked to the great tower by part of a new curtain wall round the whole castle.
