Hedwige of was born in 0910 in Saxony, Germany.1   Hedwige of's father was 'the Fowler' Emperor of Germany Henry I and her mother was Matilda (Mechtilde) of Ringelheim.  Her paternal grandparents were Otto "the Illustrious" Duke of Saxony and Hadwig von Babenberg; her maternal grandparents were Dietrich or Theodoric Count von Ringelheim and Ragnhildis Ludmilla von Friesland. She had six brothers and three sisters, named "The Great" Holy Roman Emperor, Henry I Duke of, Henry II Duke of, Duke of Cologne, Bruno Archbishop of Cologne, Heinrich, Gerberga, Hatwide Adelheid of and Hedwig.  She died in Aix-La-Chapelle, France.1

‌Hedwige of and Hugh were married in a religious ceremony before September 14th, 0938 in Mainz Oder, Ingelheim, Rheinland, Germany.2
