Gisele of was born in Frankfurt, Hesse Nassau.1   Gisele of's father was Emperor of the West Louis I "The Pious", Emperor of The West and her mother was Judith of Bavaria.  Her paternal grandparents were Holy Roman Emperor of West Charlemagne and of Swabia, Holy Roman Empress Hildegarde; her maternal grandparents were Welf (Guelph) III Duke of Bavaria and Edith (Eigilwich\Heilwig\Hedwig) of Saxony , *. She had a brother and a sister, named "The Bald" Holy Roman Emperor and Princess of France. She had three half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Holy Roman Emperor, I, King of Aquitaine, 'The German', King of the East Franks, Adelaide, Matilda Princess of, Rotrude (Hildegarde) Princess of, Ermengard Princess of and Ava Countess of Upper.  She died on July 1st, 0874.  She was buried in July 0874 in Cysoing, Nord, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France.2 3
