Robert was born in 1124 in Gloucestershire, England. Robert's father was Robert de Caen the Consul Fitzroy Earl of Gloucester and his mother is concubine. His paternal grandfather was "Beauclerc", King Of England Henry I. He had a brother named Richard. He was the younger of the two children. He had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named William Mafonache, Hamon, Philip, Richard Fitz Robert de, Roger, Mabira de, Maud Fitzrobert De and Mabel. He died at the age of 51 in 1175.General Notes
