Sophia was born in 1740 in Ann Arundel Co. MD. Sophia's father was William III Ridgely and her mother was Mary Orrick. Her paternal grandparents were William Jr. Ridgely and Jane Westall; her maternal grandparents were James Orrick and Priscilla Ruley. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Greenbury, Henry, John, Nicholas, William IV, Mary, Ann and Pricilla. She died about 1801 in Beach Bottom Brook,Va/WV.-
