Silas Pumphrey 
Silas was born about 1781. Silas' father was Resin (Reason) Pumphrey and his mother was Sophia Ridgely. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Pumphrey and Ann Cockey; his maternal grandparents were William III Ridgely and Mary Orrick. He had seven brothers and a sister, named Nicholas R., William Ridgley, Joseph, Beal, Reason , Jr., Joshua, John Boone and Rhoda. He was the second youngest of the nine children. He had a half-brother named Caleb. He died in 1857 in Fayette Co.,Ind..-
