MATHEW Whitmer was born on November 3rd, 1848 in Southampton Par., York, N-Br. MATHEW Whitmer's father was George MATHEW Dow PHILLIPS and his mother was Elizabeth PHILLIPS. His paternal grandparents were David PHILLIPS and Hannah Elizabeth Dow; his maternal grandparents are Robert PHILLIPS and Elizabeth LIDECK. He had three brothers and four sisters, named George Frederick, Robert LEE, Hugh Gordon, Hannah Eliza, Louise Adelaid, Delia Ann and Francis Helen. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 3 on September 25th, 1852.-
