George Frederick was born on September 22nd, 1837 in Southampton Par., York, N-Br. George Frederick's father was George MATHEW Dow PHILLIPS and his mother was Elizabeth PHILLIPS. His paternal grandparents were David PHILLIPS and Hannah Elizabeth Dow; his maternal grandparents are Robert PHILLIPS and Elizabeth LIDECK. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Robert LEE, MATHEW Whitmer, Hugh Gordon, Hannah Eliza, Louise Adelaid, Delia Ann and Francis Helen. He is the oldest of the eight children.-
