William IV was born in 1240 in Groby, Leicestershire, England.  William IV's father was William III de Ferrers and his mother was Margaret de Quincy.  His paternal grandparents were William II de Ferrers and Agnes de Keveliock of Chester; his maternal grandparents were Roger de Quincy and Helen MacDonald de Galloway. He had a brother and four sisters, named Robert, Agnes, Margaret (Joane), Berta and Elizabeth. He had seven half-sisters named Alianore, Agnes, Isabel, Jean, Sybil, Agatha and Maud.  He died before December 20th, 1287.


William IV's first family with Anne le Despencer

‌William IV and Anne were married in a religious ceremony about 1262 in Wooten Bassett, Wiltshire, England.  They had a son and a daughter, named William and Anne.
