Alice was born in Hadley, Stafford, England.  Alice's father was Hugh Senior de Audley de Alditheley and her mother was Isolt de Mortimer.  Her paternal grandparents were James de Aldithley de Audley and Ela Longespee; her maternal grandparents were Edmund de Mortimer and Eleanor (Margaret) de Fiennes. She had three brothers named Hugh II Juniori, Nicholas and James.  She died in Greystoke, Northumberland, England.  She was buried in Durham Cathedral, Durham, England.
