Johann Georg was born on January 5th, 1756 in Allemangel, Northampton, Pennsylvania. Johann Georg's father was Andreas Volck and his mother was Maria Margaretha Romig. His paternal grandparents were Andreas Volck and Anna Catharina Meckel; his maternal grandparents were Johann Adam Romich and Agnes Margaretha Bernhardt. He had five brothers and eight sisters, named Heinrich, Johannes, Johan Adam, Johannes, Andreas, Anna Maria, Infant Daughter, Christina, Anna Catherina, Maria Magdalena, Maria Margaretha, Johanna and Infant Daughter. He is the sixth youngest of the fourteen children.-
