William B. was born on June 22nd, 1859 in Kanawha County, Virginia. William B.'s father was LaFayette M. Shaver and his mother was Eliza Virginia Martin. His paternal grandparents were Paul Shaver and Caroline Sarah Harper; his maternal grandparents are Dioclesian Martin and UNKNOWN Catherine. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Jesse Martin, Marcus Lafayette, Andrew Johnson, Dioclesian Martin, Thomas Stanton, James Hayes, Josephine, Rosilla C., Virginia Elizabeth, Nancy Alice, Scynthia F. and Minnie G.. He was the third oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 22 on May 10th, 1882.General Notes
