William the Younger was born about 1190 in Normandy, France.  William the Younger's father was William the Protector Marshal and his mother was Isabel Fitz Richard Strongbow de Clare.  His paternal grandfather was John FitzGilbert the Marshal and his paternal grandmother is Sibilla d'Evereaux de Salisbury; his maternal grandparents were Richard Strongbow FitzGilbert de Clare and Aoife (Eva) MacMurrough of Leinster. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Richard, Gilbert, Walter, Anselm, Isabella, Joane (Johanna), Maud, Eve and Sibyl.  He died on April 6th, 1231 in England.  He was buried on April 15th, 1231 in Temple Church, London, England.
