Maud was born in Pembroke, Wales.  Maud's father was William the Protector Marshal and her mother was Isabel Fitz Richard Strongbow de Clare.  Her paternal grandfather was John FitzGilbert the Marshal and her paternal grandmother is Sibilla d'Evereaux de Salisbury; her maternal grandparents were Richard Strongbow FitzGilbert de Clare and Aoife (Eva) MacMurrough of Leinster. She had five brothers and four sisters, named William the Younger, Richard, Gilbert, Walter, Anselm, Isabella, Joane (Johanna), Eve and Sibyl.  She died on March 27th, 1248.


Maud's first family with Hugh Bigod

‌Maud and Hugh were married in a religious ceremony in 1207.  They had four sons and a daughter, named Ralph, Roger, Simon, Hugh and Isabel.


Maud's second family with William de Warren

‌Maud and William were married in a religious ceremony before October 13th, 1225.  They had a son and a daughter, named John and Isabel.
