John Hiatt 
John was born in 1775 in Hampshire County, Virginia (now West Virginia). John's father was Evan Hiatt and his mother was Sarah Smith. His paternal grandparents were John Jr. Hiatt and Margaret Stephens; his maternal grandparents are Jeremiah Smith and Mary Elizabeth. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Joseph, Jonathan, Jeremiah Sr., Mary, Margaret, Elizabeth, Ann, Sarah and Martha. He was the third oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 82 in 1857 in Hampshire County, Virginia (now West Virginia).-
