Arthur Tansy was born before 1850. Arthur Tansy's father was John Hiatt and his mother was Martha Elizabeth Tansy. His paternal grandparents were Evan Hiatt and Sarah Smith. He has a brother and three sisters, named Joseph Smith, Elizabeth, Lucy and Lydia Ann. He is the oldest of the five children.-
