William I the Conqueror of was born in Falaise, Normandy, France. William I the Conqueror of's father was Robert II The Magnificent Devil of Normandy and his mother was Herleva de Falaise. His paternal grandparents were Richard II The Good of Normandy and Judith of Rennes Brittany; his maternal grandparents were Fulbert the Tanner de Falaise and UNKNOWN Duxia. He had a sister named Adelaide of. He had two half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Robert de Burgo of, Odo (Eudes) of, Isabella, Daughter, Mathilde, Emma (Adelaide) and Muriel. He died on September 9th, 1087 in Hermentrube/Hermenbraville, near Rouen,Normandy,France. He was buried on September 10th, 1087 in L'Abbaye-Aux-Hommes St. Stephen Abbey (Saint-Etienne high altar),Caen,Normandy.General Notes

"Reigned 1066-1087. Duke of Normancy 1035-1087. Invaded England defeated
and killed his rival Harold at the Battle of Hastings and became King.
The Norman conquest of England was completed by 1072 aided by the
establishment of feaudalism under which his followers were granted land
in return for pledges of service and loyalty. As King William was noted
for his efficient if harsh rule. His administration relied upon Norman
and other foreign personnell especially Lanfranc Archbishop of
Canterbury. In 1085 started Domesday Book."
Some sources list his birth in 10-24-1024,1027 or 1028. A Cartulary was
recently discovered at Falaise recording William's birth and baptism
there in 1027.
