Robert de Burgo of was born about 1031 in Normandy, France.  Robert de Burgo of's father was Herlevin (Herluin) de Conteville and his mother was Herleva de Falaise.  His paternal grandfather was John de Bourg de Tonsburgh; his maternal grandparents were Fulbert the Tanner de Falaise and UNKNOWN Duxia. He had a brother and five sisters, named Odo (Eudes) of, Isabella, Daughter, Mathilde, Emma (Adelaide) and Muriel. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named Ralf, Gilbert Malet, William Malet, William I the Conqueror of and Adelaide of.  He died on December 8th, 1090 in France or Northumberland, England.

‌Robert de Burgo of and Matilda were married in a religious ceremony before 1054.  They had a son and three daughters, named William, Agnes, Emma de Burgo and Denise.
