Anita Delaine was born on June 19th, 1924 in Tacoma, Pierce Co., Washington.1 Anita Delaine's father was Raymond Edward Woods and her mother was Lenora Odell Kirkland. Her paternal grandparents are Edward Woiods and Eva Baltzell; her maternal grandparents were Anthony Kirkland and Minnie Odell. She was an only child. She died at the age of 78 on April 12th, 2003 in Selah, Hakima Co., Washington.1 General Notes

I was born in Tacoma, Washington on June 19, 1924 to Lenora Ode
ll K irkland and Raymond Woods. My father was a barber and my mother h
ad be en a legal secretary in Wenatchee before she married. By the ti
me I was f ive, my parents separeted and my mother raised me herself. I a
ttended Gau lt intermediate school and Lincoln High School in Tacoma. I m
et Jimmy Fin ney at Lincoln and we dated for 3 years. He was drafted in
to the Army a nd sent to Bend, Oregon for basic training. We were marri
ed there on Aug ust 27, 1943.
Our first child, Maureen was born in Tacoma while Jimmy was in t
he ar my in the Pacific. Mike was born about three years later. We mov
ed to Yak ima, Washington and after the children were in school I work
ed in a hardwa re store. I also worked for a bank as a teller for many ye
ars.

Anita was born June 19, 1924 in Tacoma, Wa. to Raymond and Leno
ra O. (K irkland) Woods. She received her education in Tacoma Schools, gr
aduati ng from Lincoln High School the Class of '42. In 1943 she marri
ed her chi ldhood sweetheart James E. Finney before he left for oversea
s. In 1948 th ey moved to Yakima where they have resided since. Anita wo
rked for Yaki ma Hardware retail and a number of years for Seattle First N
ational Ban
Anita is survived by her husband James Finney; a daughter Mrs. Mau
re en Garrison and her husband Bob of Selah, a son F. Michael and his wi
fe Ka ren of Hillsboro, Or. 4 grand children and numerous great grandchild
ren.
Anita and the family wish to express their sincere thanks to all t
he nu rses, technicians and doctors associated with her care. Special th
an ks to hospice and their special care. At her request there wi
ll be no ser vices.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Terrace Heights Chapel of Va
ll ey Hills Funeral Home, Yakima.
