Alfred Young was born on July 16th, 1853.1 Alfred Young's father was William Madison Tutor and his mother was Harriet Ligon. His paternal grandparents were William Owen Tutor and Lucinda Senter. He had four brothers and a sister, named James A., Reuben S., Jessie Harris, Samuel Green and Mary E.. He was the second youngest of the six children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named William Owen, Dorcus A. and Hixie Emeline. He died at the age of 87 on September 3rd, 1940 in Harnett Co., North Carolina.
