Mary Etta was born on March 16th, 1889 in Harnett Co., North Carolina.1 Mary Etta's father was Alfred Young Tutor and her mother was Charlotte L. Honeycutt. Her paternal grandparents were William Madison Tutor and Harriet Ligon; her maternal grandparents are Solomon Honeycutt and Dolly Unknown. She had five brothers and five sisters, named John, William Owen, James Braxton, Glover, Lemon Lee, Joanna, Phoebe, Magnolia T., Claudia Florence and Mittie L.. She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 76 on May 1st, 1965.1 General Notes
