Mahala Skaggs

Mahala was born in 1837.¹ Mahala's father was Solomon Skaggs and her mother was Martha Prather. Her paternal grandparents were William David Skaggs and Margaret Hoover. She had three brothers and four sisters, named William Solomon, Moses Riley, King Solomon, Susan Margaret, Sarah, Cynthia Jane and Martha. She is the third youngest of the eight children.
