Sam Cecil was born on September 11th, 1893 in Alvarado, Johnson Co., Texas.1 Sam Cecil's father was George Harris Prestridge and his mother was Serena Clementine Snodgrass. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Bagley Prestridge and Sarah Adline Williams. He had five sisters named Uda, Addie, Georgia, Achsa Victoria and Annie Bill. He is the second youngest of the six children.-
