Samuel S. Porter

Samuel S. was born on May 27th, 1795 in Orange Co., Virginia.¹   Samuel S.'s father is Abner Porter and his mother is Hanna Ingram.  His paternal grandfather was Benjamin Porter and his paternal grandmother is Mary Ann Campbell; his maternal grandparents are John Ingram and Elizabeth Hawkins. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Alexander, Abner, Alexander, William, George, Benjamin F., Frances, Elizabeth Hawkins, Lucy, Maria, Nancy C. and Verlinda Alexander.  He is the youngest of the thirteen children.

They had three sons and three daughters, named Abner J., William S., Benjamin F., Hannah Jane, Lucy Ellen and Maria F..
