Her maternal grandparents were Robert L.Wheeler and Mariah Elizabeth Campbell. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Thomas Mathew, Austin Leon, Walter Scott, William Lawner, Arabella, Olive Octavia, Mattie Mariah, Gracie Pearl and Lillie Lucille. She was the third youngest of the ten children. She had two half-brothers named Robert Marion and John Marshall. She died at the age of 86 on June 27th, 1961 in Memorial Hosp.
