Austin Leon was born on April 9th, 1869 in McLeansboro, Hamilton Co., Illinois.1 Austin Leon's father was Samuel Porter Hill and his mother was Pernecy Wheeler. His maternal grandparents were Robert L.Wheeler and Mariah Elizabeth Campbell. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Thomas Mathew, Walter Scott, William Lawner, Arabella, Olive Octavia, Mattie Mariah, Lulu May, Gracie Pearl and Lillie Lucille. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children. He had two half-brothers named Robert Marion and John Marshall. He died at the age of 68 on May 10th, 1937 in McLeansboro, Hamilton Co., Illinois.1 General Notes
