Katherine Neal Dawes 
Katherine Neal was born in May 1915 in Crockett, Texas.1 Katherine Neal's father was John Thomas Dawes and her mother was Johnnie Augusta Gause. Her maternal grandparents were Edward A. Gause and Catherine N. Hall. She had three brothers and four sisters, named John Thomas, Jr., Johnnie Lee, Roger Arthur, Gladys, Edd Dorothy, Flora and Bettie. She was the youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 84 in 1999.1 General Notes
