John Gause 
John was born in 1769 in North Carolina.1 John's father was Needham Gause and his mother is Hannah Frink. His paternal grandfather was William, Sr. Gause and his paternal grandmother is Ann Bryan. He had three brothers and a sister, named Needham, William, Bryan and Elizabeth. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 48 in 1817 in Alabama.1 
They had four sons and four daughters, named John, James S., William, Austin Bacot, Eliza, Martha, Mary J. and Ann Rebecca.

James S. was born in 1794 in North Carolina.1 He died at the age of 29 in 1823 in Alabama.1
William Gause
William was born in 1798 in North Carolina.1 He died at the age of 43 in 1841 in Alabama.1
Austin Bacot Gause
Austin Bacot was born in 1808 in North Carolina.1 He died at the age of 51 in 1859 in Mobile, Alabama.1
Ann Rebecca Gause
Ann Rebecca was born in 1812 in North Carolina.1 She died at the age of 86 in 1898 in Houston, Texas.1
