Obediah S. was born on February 5th, 1798 in Statesville, Iredell Co., North Carolina.1 Obediah S.'s father was Alexander Davidson and his mother was Jane Henrietta Clayton. His paternal grandfather was Joseph Davidson and his paternal grandmother is Sarah Lambert; his maternal grandparents were George Clayton and Sarah Lambert. He had four brothers and a sister, named George Clayton, Joseph, Thomas B., James and Sarah M.. He was the youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 68 on August 25th, 1866 in Lawrence Co., Alabama. He was buried in Family Farm, Sheffield, Lawrence Co., Alabama.1 1 General Notes
