John Dallas was born on August 11th, 1890 in Emblem, Hopkins Co., Texas.1 John Dallas' father was Williba Franklin Bassham and his mother was Lydia Elisha Hammond. His paternal grandparents were Solomon J. Bassham and Susan Jane Kennamer. He had a brother named Infant Daughter. He was the younger of the two children. He had eight half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Solomon Frank, Leona Bell, George Allen, Williba 'Edgar', Clyde Houston, James Talmage (J T), Infant, Joe Bailey, Susie Isabella, Rosa Ava and Bonnie Pauline. He died at the age of 69 on June 10th, 1960 in Paris, Lamar Co., Texas.1 General Notes
