William Decatur was born on February 25th, 1816 in Edwards Co.,IL. William Decatur's father was William D. Blackburn and his mother was Elizabeth McClanahan. His paternal grandparents were John B. Blackburn and Nancy Maxwell. He had three brothers and four sisters, named James Maxwell, John, Alexander, Anna, Eliza, Jane and Sarah. He was the youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 47 on May 17th, 1863 in Sullivan Co.,IN.General Notes
