Ermengarde was born about 1158 in Beaumont Le Vicomte, Maine, France.  Ermengarde's father was Richard De Beaumont and her mother was Lucie De L'Aigle.  Her paternal grandparents were Roscelin Raoul De Beaumont and Constance Of England; her maternal grandparents were Richard De L'Aigle and Sophie De Montbelliard. She had a brother and a sister, named Raoul and Constance.  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died in Balmerino Abbey, Fife, Scotland.  She was buried in Balmerino Abbey, Fife, Scotland.
