Christine Philimena DELABAR, 88, of Wheelersburg, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997, at Best Care Nursing Center.
Born Oct. 20, 1909 in Wheelersburg, a daughter of the late Bernard Benjamin SCHWAMBERGER Sr. and Mary Helen BIHL SCHWAMBERGER, she was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and its Ladies Guild. She was a retired cafeteria cook from Notre Dame from 1864 to 1968 and Wheelersburg from 1968 to 1973.
Preceded in death Aug. 20, 1984, by her husband, Carl Aloysius DELABAR, whom she married Nov. 22, 1933, in Wheelersburg, she is survived by three sons, Carl B. DELABAR of Lexington, KY., and David R. DELABAR and James M. DELABAR, both of Wheelersburg; three daughters, Helen ROTH and Ruth Ann LOGAN, both of Wheelersburg, and Rita Louise RUHE of Pickerington; two brothers, Frank SCHWAMBERGER and Albert SCHWAMBERGER, both of Wheelersburg; four sisters, Agnes KLINE and Mildred COOK, both of Wheelersburg, Marie DELABAR of New Boston and Beatrice SCHWAB of Ironton; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard SCHWAMBERGER Jr.; two daughters, Patricia DELABAR and Marilyn Christine DELABAR; and a sister, Margaret SHERMAN.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Wheelersburg, with eh Rev. Peter Gideon officiating, and interment in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Harrison Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, where a rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
