MARIE L SCHWAMBERGER DELABAR 3/11/1999
Marie L. Delabar 86, of Portsmouth, died Thursday March 11, 1999, at
Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born October 28, 1912, in
Wheelersburg, a daughter of the late Ben & Mary Bihl Schwamberger. She
was retired in 1974 from the dietary department at Mercy Hospital. She
was a former member of St. Peter's Catholic Church & a current member of
St. Monica Catholic Church & the Altar & Rosary Society. She was preceded
in death in 1959 by her husband, Albert Delabar, whom she married in
November 1935. She also was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Bernard,
Frank, & Raymond Schwamberger; & 2 sisters, Christine Delabar & Margaret
Sherman. Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. George (Alberta) Scherer of
Portsmouth & Mrs. Jim (Eileen) Hilderbrand of Beavercreek; 1 brother
Albert Schwamberger of Wheelersburg; 3 sisters, Beatrice Schwab of
Ironton & Agnes Kline and Mildred Cook, both of Wheelersburg; 5
grandchildren; & 3 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be
held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Wheelersburg,
with the Rev. Peter Gideon officiating & interment in St. Peter's
Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Pennington-Bishop
Funeral Home in New Boston, with a wake service at 4 p.m. & recitation of
the rosary at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
